Polaroidzahs
Polaroids are generally used to capture a moment in time and archive it using an instant film frame. Through a series of self-portraits I, Russell Katz take this concept and fortify the rigidity of it. Rather than capturing a specific point in time, I repeat a patterned sequence almost exactly over and over while changing outfits entirely. This in turn produces a collective effect of viewing fashionable attire as the central focus point. Throughout the series the garments worn do not repeat. The caption below each image is a quasi-cosmetical take on the societal assumptions of the people who wear similar attire.
