Four Trees (Paula), 2023.

Personal letter to a very special person.

une fleur s’apparentant à un coquelicot, 2024.

I started to draw this flower on the way to Boxermans and continued while I ate. The staff loved it too. This work reminds me of the blossoming love of the world.

The Automobile, 2022.

The presence of a classical Americana staple the automobile is featured in each of these four frames. Executed in Warholian lithographical style, each of the corners of the print contain different lighting and saturation environments.

(Benny) Stick Dog And Bone, 2022.

Seeing is believing and with this work, not all is present that meets the eye. This composed construction of an image, a scan, and a physical (digitized) imprint denotes the fusion of mediums. A dog is depicted with a bone looking up at an ambiguous and non-specific figment. This figment is also present in the bottom left corner which posits the question of why the dog has chosen to look upwards rather than downwards.

Star Yellow, 2022.

Toying with the idea of objectivity and subjectivity this illustration of a star challenges the viewer. The digital drawing posits the question of do we believe what we are told or what is present in actuality (in front of us).

Outfitting, 2022.

Captured with a long exposure, this photo depicts the bottom of a closet and clothing hanging off of both handles. Also visible in the background are shelves and faintly visible hats. The blurry effect on this photo demonstrates the presence of movement.

Dreamlike Haze, 2022.

Featured in these two frames are impressionistic photos of nature at night. Almost as if out of a dream, the hazy nature of these shots make them appear as a figment of our imagination. Wander on.

Ian (and Gus') Outlook, 2022.

Pulling from memories and places visited while with friends, this depiction of one of Russell's closest friend's at the time is featured with his favourite feline companion. This digitally sketched portrait of Ian and his pet cat Gus shows the two looking out at the viewer. The two, always keen for energetic and exciting experiences explore the scope of each of their possibilities. Below them sits a box and a ladder protruding diagonally. The ideas of the two emanate with the concept of 'thinking outside the box'. Each of their scopes are now intertwined even though their physical aspirations may differ.

The Solace of the Lantern, 2022.

In the midst of daytime hours, a photo of a lantern was taken against a beige creamy textured wall. This image of a lantern floats above a plain. Certain parts of the void below have varying degrees of transparency making them lighter in appearance.

Project PL8T Tower, 2022.

Initially designed as furniture to hang clothes, shoes, and other accessories, this piece of furniture from Project PL8T is designed in print form. This tower from one of the later iterations of the project boasts a heavy maple exterior, door-wide cupboards, brass doorknobs, and a removable dust bag and shoelace drawer unit. This modular unit is also designed to be modified as it is simple to take apart. Unlike in the physical work (yet to be constructed) there are minor imperfections that speak to the idea of the tower being handcrafted.

Retro Fusion Motion, 2021.

Referencing some of the works of the late Wassily Kandinsky and inspired by the Surrealist automatism movement, this random collection of objects delivers with the use of a multidimensional plain. What at first seems apparent is not always what one perceives. Many of these objects are meant to resemble common ordinary objects that are quasi-familiar to the viewer. The presence of the Googie design style is also payed homage to, as several of the objects possess a futuristic and space-age feel. Movement is channeled all over the work as objects are seen to have a path to follow.

Cow Hide Matted 1, 2021. & Cowhide Matted 2, 2021.

These two prints are meant to resemble the flattening of three-dimensional cowhides. With a modern twist, the typically black and brown blotches are stripped of their typical shapes, sizes, and colors to take on new forms and appearances. The false representation of reality is further contrasted by solid-colored backgrounds to enhance their visibility.
